NYKS gets ready for 'Fit India Freedom Runs 2.0' in Manipur

All arrangement has been made for organising Fit India Freedom Runs 2.0, a nationwide programme, in Manipur.
This was stated by state director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Imphal in a press release issued on Thursday.
According to the release, the main event will be launched at the Indian National Army Martyrs Memorial Complex, Moirang in Bishnupur district on Friday (August 13)) along with one event in Pherzawl to coincide with the nationwide launch.
Senapati, Chandel, Churachandpur, Imphal East districts will host the event on August 14.Imphal West and Jiribam will organise the run on August 21; Kakching, Kamjong and Noney on August 28 while Ukhrul, Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Tamenglong and Senapati/Kangpokpi will run on September 4 .
Youth clubs, sportspersons, local authorities, army personnel, social influencers and people from different walks of life acrdss different villages will join the run.
Union minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur will launch the nationwide programme of Fit India Freedom Runs 2.0 on August 13 at Delhi in the morning.
Subsequently, weekly programme will be held in 75 districts and at 75 villages till October 2 .
Thus, Fit India Freedom Runs will be organised in 744 districts, 75 villages in each of the 744 districts and 30,000 educational institutions across the country.
Through this initiative, more than 7.50 crore youths and citizen will be reached to take part in the run.
The key activities of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 include pledge, rendering of national anthem, freedom run, cultural functions at venues, awareness among youth volunteers to participate and also organise similar freedom runs in their villages.
People can register and upload their run on Fit India portal https://fitindia.gov.in and promote freedom run on their social media channels with #Run4India and #AzadikaAmritMahotsav.
Fit India Freedom Run was conceived last year in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic when social distancing became 'new normal lifestyle', so as to keep the imperative need of fitness active even while following the social distancing norms.
The first edition of the campaign was organised from August 15 to October 2, 2020.More than five crore people from central/state departments and organisations including central armed forces, NGOs, private organisations, schools, individuals, youth clubs participated and covered around 18 crore-km distance, added the release.
