AR conducts lectures, aids snake bite victim

Churachandpur Sector of IGAR (South) organised online lectures in Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts on International Youth Day' to acquaint the youth about their rights and responsibility towards nation building.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the role of youth in eradicating drug menace and illicit trafficking, tackling climatic challenges and conservation of biodiversity were emphasised during the event in addition to briefing the participants about various career opportunities in Armed Forces and civil streams.
The youth were also briefed on various online education platforms to enhance their skills and knowledge during the nationwide pandemic.
On the other hand, Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) also organised a motivational lecture to celebrate "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav - 75 Years of Independence of India" for students of St John Vienney School, Santing L village of Pherzawl district on Thursday.
The lecture was aimed at motivating the children by means of the glorious history of freedom struggle and the progress the nation has made since Independence.
They were also informed about the nationwide celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the PRO said.
The event inculcated national solidarity and patriotic spirit amongst children.
Education staff of school expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for organising such patriotic and motivating events for children, the PRO added.
Meanwhile, Khuga Battalion of IGAR (S) provided lifesaving assistance to a snake bite victim of Tuikot village of Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
According to PRO IG-AR(S), a 20-year old male was bitten by a venomous snake on August 10 and he was rushed by the villagers to the Khuga Battalion Headquarters with symptoms of bleeding and vomiting.
The Assam Rifles medical centre immediately rendered lifesaving medical care to the patient and stabilized his condition.
He was further referred to RIMS Imphal for further treatment, it added.
