Imphal, August 12 2021:
The Irabot Foundation Manipur (IFM) has demanded the State Government to constitute a enquiry committee headed by a retired Judge of High Court to probe the scarcity of urea fertilizer in the State which has been making headline for quite some weeks.
The foundation in a release said that the crisis is not a new one and farmers who are already hit worst by Covid pandemic are extremely aggrieved due to unavailability of urea fertilizer.
The scarcity issue and anomalies in distribution has been a perpetual problem and yet the State Government, be it the present or the earlier, seem to take less interest in bringing solution to it, lamented IFM and urged Agriculture Minister and Department officials to take note of the issue and take measures to ensure timely and abundant availability of the fertilizer.
To draw an everlasting solution to the issue, the State Government should constitute an enquiry commission and its recommendation be effectively implemented, IFM urged.
