35th National Games Chaoba Devi, Rupachandra enter semis

Th Chaoba Devi of Manipur entered the semi-final of the 500 metre single squall of rowing at the 35th National Games today at Punnamada Lake, Alappuzha in Kerala.
Final match will be played tomorrow.
In yachting, Rout Vijaykumar Singh of Manipur led all yachters of other States on completion of eight rounds today out of 15 rounds which took place at Munambam, Kochi.
Final match will take place tomorrow.
In shooting, none of the shooters from Manipur could enter the qualifying round in 50 metre Rifle Prone (men) event today which took place at Vattiyoorkavu Polytechnic ground here.
In archery, N Arjun Singh and H Bijendranath Singh of Manipur entered the quarter-
final today in Indian Round Men beating team mate Lamnganba by 7-5 points and a Mizoram archer by 6-2 points respectively at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi.
In Indian Round Women, P Sonia Devi of Manipur beat UP archer by 6-0 points and Okram Naobi Chanu beat Maharashtra archer by 6-0 points today and entered
the quarter finals.
Quarter final will be held tomorrow.
In gymnastics, K Rupachandra Sharma entered semi-final today in Apparatus Championship in floor exercise event at Jimmy George Indoor Stadium here.
Mairembam Prithviraj, Parliamentary Secretary (Sports) who was the Chef De Mission of Manipur Contingent and the Treasurer of Manipur Olympic Association and Dr Khwairakpam Loken, Vice President of Manipur Olympic Association, Konsam Baruni Singh, Vice President of Manipur Olympic Association and Dr GA Ibopishak Sharma, Deputy Chef de Mission visited Vattiyoorkavu Polytechnic ground here this morning today to witness the shooting.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also visited the venue.
Anti Doping Teams swing into action : The Anti-Doping squad, comprising of Doping Control Officers (DCOs) and officials of National Ant-Doping Agency (NADA), is already in action.
75 is the size of the squad, which has a presence in all seven venue districts.
Grouped into small teams, they will shuttle between different venues.
Testing of urine samples is being done as per stipulated norms of NADA.
It might take up to 10 days to get the results of a test.
Dr Perumal is head of the anti-doping team at these Games.
Appropriate infrastructure and facilities have been provided by the organisers for the teams to carry out their functions.
Transportation facilities, exclusive rooms and toilets with facilities for sample collection have been set up at all Games venues.
The 34 DCOs, who have multi-lingual proficiency, locally sourced and trained, are deployed at each venue to support the measures.
First National record broken : The first National record to be broken at the Games came today in weightlifting when Vikas Thakur of Services rewrote the national record in the 85 Kg Snatch in men's category.
He first broke the Games record when he lifted 150 kg, and then ultimately the national record by lifting 153 Kg.
