Kangpokpi, February 03 2015:
The Kuki National Front (Nehlun) has today categorically denied its involvement in the reported abduction of three workers of ABCI Infrastructures Private Limited on January 23 and clarified that they have nothing to do with the abduction.
Information secretary of KNF (N) Gogou Vaiphei said that the outfit has no connection whatsoever with the abduction of the workers.
Since the outfit has been blamed ab initio, it constituted a committee to investigate the matter and according to the committee's finding no cadres of KNF (N) were involved in the case, he clarified.
Gogou Vaiphei further said that it was very unfortunate that the ADB funded road construction work from Thoubal to Kasom Khullen in Ukhrul district has been stalled after the three workers of ABCI Infrastructure Private Limited were abducted.
It was also equally unfortunate that the KNF-N has been blamed for the incident, he added.
While warning to initiate befitting punishment to those individual or group using the outfit's name to defame the organization, Gogou Vaiphei also warned that those involved in the abduction of the three workers too will be given befitting punishment if the outfit happens to net them.
