Sitharaman set to arrive here on Feb 9

Union Commerce and Industries Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be visiting the State on February 9 in line with the Prime Minister's instruction to his Ministers to visit the NE States every fortnight in rotation.
Earlier, Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Human Resources Minister of State Ram Shankar Katheriya were scheduled to visit Manipur but the official visit was put off citing unavoidable circumstances.
During her two-day official visit to the State, Nirmala Sitharaman would make a spot assessment of the trade cum permanent exhibition centre being developed by the State's Commerce and Industries Department at Lamboi Khongnangkhong, Imphal West.

She would also hold meetings with the Governor, the Chief Minister and some senior Ministers, and study different projects being implemented in the State.
It is reported that the Union Minister's visit to the State is aimed at promoting trade and commerce.
Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Kuraopokpi, Kakching by helicopter on February 10 and inspect the site identified by the State Govt for developing a special economic zone.
