Imphal, February 03 2015:
All Manipur Primary Teachers Association (AMPTA) 2011, has drawn the attention of the Government of Manipur to held 'six month special programme in elementary education'.
In a released by K Gunachandra, secretary AMPTA, said the need for the training programme arises due to the implementation of 'Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009' .
Rationale behind the programme, AMPTA added, is to equipped primary teachers with special skill and know-ledge.
'The importance of the programme was emphasised by National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) and has informed the Government of Manipur in two separate communications on October 14 and November 19, 2014' said Gunachandra.
Taking a blind eye, Gunachandra explained, 'Directorate of Education (S) has not made any arrangement and also the list of primary teachers to be part of the course.
Such an act invariably deprives Hindi Primary Teachers; Primary Teachers and SSA Primary Teachers who were selected in 2011 of their basic rights to improve skills and knowledge' .
