MUSU rules out dialogue
Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, February 03 2015:
The Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) has categorically stated that they would not talk with the MU authority until and unless a positive response to their charter of demands is received.
Speaking to media persons at their office today, MUSU president Sarangthem David said that they would continue with their ongoing agitation.
MUSU's charter of demands include development of adequate infrastructure, ensuring regularity of students and teachers in attending/taking classes, declaration of semester exam results on time, payment of fellowship and scholarship of research scholars on time, appointment of teachers and staff to the full strength etc.

Today too, a team of MUSU went on an inspection drive within the university campus and many construction works were found incomplete or totally abandoned, David said.
A section of a compound wall constructed just two months back has collapsed.
Instead of repairing the collapsed section, the same section has been replaced by bamboo mats (phaklong).
The VC's attitude and response shown during a joint meeting with Deans, HoDs, Registrar and MUSU representatives yesterday was rather disappointing, David added.
