State team ends campaign on high at Wushu nationals

Imphal, September 06 2022:
Manipur won 31 medals in the 21st Junior/Youth National Wushu Championship 2022 held in Kerala.
The state team took home 15 gold, nine silver and seven bronze medals.
Ngangom Kajal Chanu made her mark in the competition by claiming three gold medals (changquan, daoshu & gunshu events).
Wahengbam Bhumeshwor Meetei impressed with two gold medals (taijiquan & taijijian) while Maisnam Dianmond Singh also struck a golden double (taijiquan & single weapon) and Achom Tapas bagged a gold (changquan) and two bronze (daoshu & gunshu).
Other top finishers were Olica Naorem, Thoungamba Aheibam, Gurumayum Devesh Sharma, Thingam Sandeshwori Chanu and Kh Chaoba Devi.
The silver medallists included Leimapokpam Nelson Meitei (two), Waikhom Silvia Devi (two), Waikhom Gyaneshor Singh, Oinam Malemnganbi Devi, Ngamba Aheibam, Thounganba Aheibam and N Abebao Devi.
Other bronze winners were Chingangbam Dinesh Singh, Taruba Khuraijam, Angom William, Khaidem Panthoi Devi and S Sunil Singh.
