Imphal, March 06 2014 :
Though late into the season, Rangdajied United's effort to turn around their fortune seems to be seeing the light.
The changed in the Gaffer and the induction of Ranti Martins have seen 'The Blues' overcoming the league leaders, Bengaluru FC in a thrilling encounter last week at home.
And proving his effectiveness, right on his debut for the club was, Ranti Martins.
The former United SC striker scored the winning goal and his work rate earned him the Man of the Match also.
"I have come here to play for Rangdajied and I will give my all to help the team.
We are on a mission and I being part of that, will play my role to perfection.
I am here to score goals and I was doing my job.
And it feels good that we succeeded," said Ranti, on being quizzed about the match against Bengaluru FC.
Now with the next match on Saturday against his former side United SC, Ranti is excited but not in a mood to show any mercy.
"I am a professional and my job is to give 100 percent for the team I play.
My opponents may be my friends but there is no room for mercy on the field." But he was quick to add that, "Yes, everyone in United have been very good to me and I love them and respect all.
So, off-the-field, it will be an emotional moment."

Coy that he is, the Nigerian mostly keeps to himself.
He goes for training and comes back to his hotel where he likes to spend time - taking rest or speaking to his family or watching a movie.
He doesn't go out much and hence is not much aware of the city, yet.
He however spends lots of time with his one-time teammate at United SC, Gouramangi Singh, with whom he has reunited again.
Despite that, Ranti has noticed and is amazed at the way people in Shillong love their football.
"People in other cities also love football, but people of Shillong don't just love the game but they understand the game much better.
That's something I really love about the people of Shillong," he smiled and said.
With family away in Kolkata, Ranti does miss them.
But commitments, determination and love to excel keeps Ranti focused on Rangdajied.
"The start have been good for me personally.
But 'I' is something which is not important in football.
It is 'Team' that matters.
So, we all are working tirelessly to save Rangdajied from relegation and we are confident, we will do it" .
The five-time I-League winner with Dempo is very much aware of the RUFC even before he joined.
"It was a good team even at the start.
The brand of football was awesome.
It was just that the win was not coming.
Now that we have started, I hope many more will come," he said, before adding "By the Grace of Almighty" .
Right now, he is focused on the game against United SC and he hopes the result will be in Rangdajied's favour.
