Manipur, UK stretch winning runs in 14th Manipur Polo International

The United Kingdom edged past US A 8-3 for the third win in the trot at the 14th Manipur Polo International as hosts Manipur (India-B) prevailed 18-1 over IndianNavy forthe second win here at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The fifth match of the 6-team tournament turned out to be a very lopsided encounter as L Atangba and L Rohit chipped in five goals apiece to help Manipur secure a comfortable 18-1 victory.
P Ojit and T Pradeepkumar also starred with four goals each in Manipur's big win today.
Indian Navy drew first blood with Captain AP Singh finding the opener in the second minute of the opening chukker but L Atangba, P Ojit and T Pradeepkumar scored two goals each to make the first chukker scoreline read 6-1 in Manipur's favour.
The second chukker saw, P Ojit and Pradeepkumar scored a goal each and L Atangba scored three successive goals in between to make it 11-1 till halfway.
L Rohit then scored three of his five goals and Pradeepkumar hit his third in the third chukker to help Manipur earn a 15-1 lead till the third chukker as the Indian Navy team remained clueless.
Pradeepkumar completed his fourth in the third minute of the final chukker before L Rohit scored two goals back to back within the fifth minutes to complete the rout.
Later in the sixth match, the UK side who had beaten Indian Navy and India A in the previous matches, carried forward their momentum by securing an 8-3 victory.
The UK took a slender 1-0 lead through Phil Seller goal in the 6th minute only to be equalised by JP Vasquez of USA in the 6th minute of the second chukker.
The third chukker saw Harry Tucker and Phil Seller scoring a goal each for the UK to pull level after the USA team had overturned the lead with Jorge Vasquez and Will Bolland scoring a goal apiece in the 2nd and the 4th minute.
However, the UK team took full control of the game in the final chukker with George Amor opening his account before Harry Tucker scored three more goals.
A goal was also awarded to the UK team.
