Students benefitting from DMCC courses: DMU VC

Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) vice chancellor Prof N Rajmuhon has stated that students are reaping benefits of the modern courses offered by Dhanamanjuri Community College (DMCC) of the varsity with many becoming self-employed.
Speaking on the sidelines of his visit to the stall opened at Hapta Kangjeibung in the on-going Sangai Festival by DMCC students pursuing BVoc in Fruits & Vegetable Technology on Thursday, Prof Rajmuhon informed that DMCC has opened six BVoc courses which are very applicable in present times.
The courses are very much desired by the students with many of them starting their own business after their studies, he added.
Prof N Rajmuhon also stated that the stall is selling value added products made from local fruits and vegetables by the DMCC students.
The courses not only provide job opportunities but also build entrepreneurship spirit, he added.
The VC continued that the state is witnessing establishment of numerous private clinics and centres related to medical science.
The College is also offering a course on Radiological Science in collaboration with Babina Diagnostics.
Very soon, the course will be upgraded with signing of an MoU with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre which is in the pipe-line.
So, any student pursuing physics or chemistry course can undertake the Radiological Science course and can get jobs in hospitals and clinics of not only Manipur but also in other states, he assured.
The DMC VC was accompanied by DMCC director Dr L Hemchandra and DM College of Science principal Dr M Bhubaneshwari Devi during his visit.
It may be mentioned here that DMCC offers three-year BVoc courses in disciplines of Medical Laboratory Technology, Radio Imaging Technology, Operating Theatre Technology, Mass Communication & Multimedia Technology, Fruits & Vegetables Technology and Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Assurance.
