Sr National Judo Championship : Manipur emerge overall team champs, Inunganbi adjudged best judoka

Imphal, August 19 2022: Manipur Judo team were crowned overall champions at the Senior National Judo Championship which concluded today in Lucknow with a haul of 6 medals including 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.

The last day of the championship which commenced on August 16 saw Manipur's T Inunganbi adding one more gold medal's to Manipur's tally by shining in the 70 kg category final.

L Roshini Devi also won Manipur a silver medal today.

Yesterday, L Sunibala and T Indubala won gold medals in the women's 63 kg and above 70 kg category while L Nunshithoi won a bronze in the women's 52 kg event.

The championship also witnessed Manipur men's team break the jinx of not winning a medal in National events since 1999 National Games hosted in Imphal with K Bishal winning a silver medal in the men's 66 kg category event.

L Inunganbi was also adjudged best judoka (women's category) at the championship held under the auspices of the Judo Federation of India.
