Jaipur, August 24 2010:
Manipur suffered defeat in men's and women's waterpolo event as the opening day of the 64th Senior National Aquatic Championship here witnessed RSPB's Sandeep Sejwal rewrite his own national record in men's 200 metres breaststroke competition today.
On a poor day for Manipur, the men's team lost to Maharashtra 8-1 with O Bikram scoring the consolation while the State eves were humbled 8-0 by All India Police team.
Sandeep, who had set the previous national mark of 2 minutes 18.85 seconds in the Delhi edition of the championship two years back, finished the 200 metres breatstroke competition in 2 minutes 17.92 seconds today to reassert his supremacy over the distance.
