Imphal, August 24 2010:
With the United Naga Council's decision to extend the 20 days economic blockade to another 25-days, at least 196 goods laden trucks coming through National Highway 39 reached Imphal under tight security.
Information received from Senapati said that police said that the goods laden trucks have been escorted by CRPF personnel from Dimapur.
Some State police teams also joined the paramilitary force in escorting the loaded vehicles in Senapati district.
Around 90 empty trucks have also reportedly left Imphal for Dimapur today.
Meanwhile, in view of UNC sponsored extended economic blockade, security has been beefed up along the two National Highways passing through the State.
