Sports hostels to be inaugurated by December this year: Ibobi

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has announced that the two new hostels, which are being constructed at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, would be inaugurated latest by December this year.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the closing function of a 21-day table tennis coaching camp conducted by a North Korean coach Kim Song Han at the indoor hall of National Sports Academy, Khuman Lampak here today.
Ibobi further said that the new hostels would accommodate State players from various disciplines and they would be trained rigourously for about two years under foreign coaches.
The State government would make all possible efforts to support and train sportspersons of the State to clinch gold medals at the coming Rio Olympics and other international competitions, he said.
Chief Minister also expressed his desire to improve power and other important sectors of the State within a short period of time.
The table tennis coaching camp was held from May 28 under the guidance of North Korean coach Kim Song Han.
Altogether 53 players including nine players from Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh took part in the coaching camp.
Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, Parliamentary Secretary of YAS and Tourism M Prithviraj, President of Manipur Olympics Association Bijoy Koijam and President of Manipur Table Tennis Association Dr Kh Loken were also present at the closing function of the camp.
