The last rite of K Taruba, the King of Maram Centre was performed today at Maram Centre where people from all walks of life paid their last respect to the departed soul.
Taruba passed away yesterday.
He was 88 .
The late King Tarubi is survived by his five sons, five daughters and 61 grand children.
President of Meetei National Council (MNC) Chingsubam Wangambi, who was present on the occasion, said that the sudden demise of King Taruba is a big blow not only to the people of Maram but to the State as a whole.
It is a great loss to the hill-plain relationship.
She further stated that the roles played by King Taruba, the former late King Talu, ex Secretary of Maram Khullen Village Authority and other leaders and villagers of Maram for promotion of relationship between the hills and the plain people are indeed appreciable.
If all the people of State follow the same pattern then nothing could come in between the people of the hills and the plain.
