MLM to fight against encroachers

Imphal, June 16 2013:
With 'fight against the capitalistes who encroach upon the agricultural land for their benefit' as one of the main resolutions, the 2-day long 22nd Conference of Manipur Loumee Marup (MLM) held at Changangei concluded here on Sunday.
Passing of Food Security Bill with necessary modifications; to provide irrigation to all agricultural areas; implementation of 150 days for National Rural Employment Generation Scheme; to provide the required fertilizers and seeds to farmers; to facilitate crop and other beneficial loans/loans to needy farmers and opposition to extraction of stones and mud for Railway track construction that had almost blocked irrigation system in the areas were other resolutions adopted during the conference chaired by Bajuban Riyang (MP) National Secretary of All India Kishan Sabha and Nurul Huda (Ex-MP), Finance Secretary of the Sabha.
A 19-member committee of MLM headed by Thangjam Tarpan and Thounaojam Sarat as president and general secretary respectively has also been formed during the conference on its last day.
