Murder accused remanded

Imphal, January 10 2013:
The four accused persons allegedly involved in the murder of Max Enterprises Manager Shankarlal Swami have been remanded to police custody for five days today.
Yumnam Dinesh (30) of Waheng Khuman, Laishram Herojit (34) of Laingamkhul, Hanjabam Deepu alias Purnananda (25) of Brahmapur Thangapat Mapal and Oinam Govind (21) of Waheng Khuman Mamang Leikai were brought before the Court of CJM, Imphal West today.
The Court remanded them to police custody till next Monday.
A 17-year-old minor who was also involved in the murder was not brought before the Court.
Dinesh and Herojit are the personnel of 1st IRB posted at Kangla Fort, while Deepu is a surrenderee of KCP-MTF (Sunil Meitei).
Shankarlal Swami, who was also the Manager of Mangalam Plywood Factory was abducted while he was jogging inside Kangla Fort in the morning of January 2 and found dead in the afternoon of the next day at Konjengbam Loukon of Waheng Khuman.
A State Cabinet meeting convened on January 4 had decided to handover the case to CBI.
