Imphal, January 10 2013:
Contrary to the claim of taking up developmental works and programmes for the welfare of the people of the State, the Central as well as the State government have been busy looting the people of Manipur, Tapir Gao, National General Secretary, BJP has alleged.
Tapir Gao was speaking as Chief Guest of a reception cum get-together ceremony of BJP, Manipur Pradesh at its Nityaipat Chuthek office here today.
The BJP National General Secretary further alleged that during the rule of Indian National Congress in India since 1947, the last two years were the most corrupted period of Congress.
During these two years, corruption reached its zenith.
In Manipur too, Chief Minister O Ibobi has left no stone unturned in trying to loot the wealth of the people.
He was more concerned with accumulating wealth that no development works for the welfare of the people have been taken up successfully.

Tapir Gao went on to charge that Chief Minister O Ibobi never tried to solve the insurgency problem in the State by bringing up the issue with the Central Government.
On the present law and order situation in the State, Tapir Gao observed that the rate of crimes committed in the State has increased alarmingly over the last couple of years.
Unfortunately, the Central Government has been remaining silent over the issue.
This is all because of the weakness of the Congress led Government, whether it be at the Centre or in Manipur.
"It is because of the cowardliness of Union Government that even Indian security personnel have been killed by Pakistani soldiers by crossing into more than 60 kms beyond the line of control in J&K", Tapir Gao charged and added that the faults of the UPA government should be highlighted to the common people and make them understand the reality.
Only then, changes could be brought for the better, he said.
Expressing confidence over coming into power of a BJP led Government in the Centre after the Lok Sabha election to be held in 2014, Tapir Gao maintained that there is no hope for the Congress to come back in power again at the Centre and appealed to the people of the State not to let the corrupted Congress returns to power in Manipur as well.
Th Chaoba, President of BJP Manipur Pradesh, who was also present on the occasion, said that Manipur is passing through a worst phase at present.
The people of the State are suffering for no reasons of theirs and the future of the State is bleak.
"Hoping that a stable government could be installed, the people voted Congress to power for the third consecutive term.
However, it has turned out to be contrary to the expectation of the people and Congress is having a good time swallowing up the wealth of the people", he alleged.
Even though there are a number of designated camps of NSCN-IM in Manipur, the Congress led Government is keeping silent saying that the cease fire between the Indian government and the NSCN-IM does not extend to the State.
However, the tension among the people is rising over the issue and the State government is unaware of the impending danger.
The function was also attended by P Chandrasekhar Rao, Zonal Organisation Secretary, BJP, North East.
