Imphal, January 10 2013:
Extending New Year wish to the people of the State, the Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) has cautioned all concerned not to fall prey to narrow communal agenda but to execute duty for larger social welfare in the years to come.
A statement issued by the general secretary of MNRF, Francis Kashung said that the NSCN (IM) has triggered the Kuki-Naga communal clash during the early nineties in its attempt to regain its lost strength following its breakup with Khaplang in 1988 .
The event had serious impacts in the form of famine, homelessness, killings, harassment and so on, the MNRF said.
The NSCN (IM) has played different tactics from 1997 to 2013 in its endeavour to raise their strength and to draw public attention as they had lost confidence of the people.
Maintaining that the NSCN (IM) has been deploying several tactics including playing communal card with the sole aim to strengthen their position, the MNRF cautioned all concerned to avoid the evil designs of the NSCN (IM) and not to be carried away by their greedy design.
The MNRF further urged concerned organisations to refrain from treading the evil path of NSCN (IM) but to set oneself as exemplary revolutionaries and execute duty for social welfare.
