The Joint Students' Coordination Committee has strongly condemned the reported act of molesting a four year old kid by a non-local hawker.
Speaking to media persons at MSF office here today, convenor of the committee Longjam Umakanta said that one Sahir Ullam Salam from West Bengal but staying at Hatta Golapati came into a house as a hawker of plastic toys and requested to the boy's mother to rest for a while.
At this, the mother told the non-local hawker to play with her son when she was away for shopping.
It was during these moments, the non-local hawker reportedly molested the kid.
Observing that many of the non-local labourers might criminal tendencies and antecedents, Umakanta called upon all the people not to trust non-local without knowing them thoroughly.
Involvement of non-local people in criminal activities is a clear manifestation of their disregard for the Government as well as the local people, he said.
Demanding that the Manipur State Commission for Protection of Chief Rights should be strengthened, the convenor threatened to launch all kinds of agitation if accused Sahir Ullam Salam is not punished according to law.
