Imphal, January 10 2013:
Referring to the recent news report about the alleged attempt to present seven youngsters of Heirok Part-II as cadres of MDF at a surrender drama planned at a later date, the proscribed RPF has asserted that such surrender dramas are one of the many clandestine operations being undertaken by the Indian military as a part of their counter insurgency operations.
These clandestine operation pose a direct threat to the rights of people, the outfit asserted in a press statement issued by its publicity secretary Roben Khuman.
Yet, many of these clandestine operations have failed many times in Manipur.
Surrender drama is one such clandestine operation regularly undertaken by the Indian military.
Most of the actors of these surrender dramas are erstwhile revolutionary cadres who have retired to civilian life.
They are forced to take up in the surrender dramas by the Indian military and their agents.
In their attempts to rope in innocent people for their surrender dramas, the Indian military use all kinds of baits like monetary rewards, recruitment in the Indian military, jobs in different fields etc.
Moreover, the Indian military also resort to intimidation of those people who rejected all their false promises and refused to take part in the surrender dramas.
All these surrender dramas are staged by the Indian military in cahoot with the alleged puppet State Government with a sinister ploy to project the legitimate liberation movement in the wrong light and also to swindle money sanctioned in the name of counter insurgency operations.
At the same time, officers of the Indian army have been using these surrender dramas as a means of winning promotion and awards, the outfit asserted.
The attempt of the Indian military and the State Government to present civilians as UG cadres in their surrender dramas ought to be condemned by every citizen.
Earlier, even rickshaw pullers were hired by offering some money to take part in a surrender dram organised by IG AR (South), it alleged.
However, those hapless rickshaw pullers have become a kind of fugitive after they were forcibly pulled away from the mainstream society and posed themselves as UG cadres in the surrender drama.
It further advised all the people, particularly parents of youngsters not to fall prey to such surrender dramas or let their children trapped by false promises of the Indian military.
RPF is well aware of all the clandestine operations of the adversary forces and it is fully prepared to face all such operations, it added.
