Curfew relaxation
The indefinite curfew which was imposed in Imphal east and Imphal west districts on July 8 will be relaxed on Monday from 5 am to 7 pm.
The district magistrates have issued necessary orders in this regard.
However, the prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC shall be in force and assembly of five or more persons is banned.
Besides carrying of dangerous items which can be used as weapons is not permitted.
Young Women Org help 16 widows
Young Women Help Organisation had extended monetary help to 16 shortlisted widows of the State.
In a function held at the conference hall of Manipur Press Club Majorkhul the executive members of YWO gave away a sum of Rs 3000 each to the widows who belong to below poverty line and living with three or more children.
Awareness on child rights
District Child Protection Unit, Tamenglong district in collaboration with Tribal Cultures Research Centre, Noney organised a one day awareness programme on Child Rights and Protection successfully at Chapel Hall, Rhema Public Academy, Khumji Bazar on Saturday.
Cease work strike postponed
IMPHAL, JUL19 (HNS): Manipur Secretariat Services' Association announced that the cease work strike which was scheduled on July 20 has been postponed till the announcement of new date and all secretariat are requested to attend their office normally form Monday, this was informed by President Th Mohindro.
Nat Sanskritan and Theatre Workshop
Nat Sanskritan and Theatre Workshop organised by Royal Theatrical Club, Elangbam Leikai was held on Sunday at the residence of Yumnam Guneshor, Elangbam Leikai.
Former Minister L Jayantakumar, Professor M Akshyakumar president Royal Thetrical Club, Imphal and Aribam Chitreshor Sharma took part in the workshop as dignitaries.
Gold Biscuits recovered
The Customs Officers of Anti Smuggling Unit, Customs Division Imphal detected and seized five pieces of gold biscuits of foreign origin from one passenger van plying from Imphal to Moreh road on Saturday at around 10.30 am.
According to a press release issued by Customs Division, Imphal Inspector PRO Unit Thilu Lanamai said one person was arrested and the value of the Gold Biscuits will worth of Rs 22 lakhs.
A case has been registered under the customs act 1962 .
Snake bite victim saved
Medical team under the aegis of "Red Shield Division" saved a snake bite victim, a 70 years old man in Churachandpur on July 14.According to a statement issued by PRO Defence said the victim was identified as Jangkholet (70), of village Panglian Churachandpur was bitten by a venomous snake.
The victim was brought to the Unit Hospital at 1715 hours and with immediate attention by the Medical Officer who carried out symptomatic treatment, issued the anti-venom and saved individual's life.
The individual was subsequently referred to District Civil Hospital, Churachandpur.
AMESCO observes Id-ul-Fitr
All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) observed the Muslims' sacred festival Id-ul-Fitr in Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai with locals.
The organization greeted all the communities of the state especially Muslims on the festival.
The members of the organization had food, together with the locals, and prayed for a unity, peace and development Manipur irrespective of caste, creed, religion, language and tradition.
