Imphal, July 19 2015 :
Joint Administrative Council of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organization (AMGEO) has postponed its proposed ceasework stir scheduled to be started from tomorrow till August 5 .
Speaking to reporters at their office, JAC secretary Purujit Lairikyengbam said that the decision was taken due to the present volatile situation of the State.
Purujit further said that on July 3, the JAC held a special meeting at Kuki Inn and passed a resolution to carry out an indefinite ceasework strike from July 20 in protest against the Government's adamant attitude towards their demands.
However, the JAC is compelled to postpone this stir due to the prevailing unrest, he said.
He also termed the Chief Minister's statement given in the State Assembly in reply to a query raised during a call attention motion regarding Government employees salary as irresponsible.
Purujit said that development fund is included in the Non-Plan amount while employees salary is released from the Plan amount.
As such, it is unfortunate that the Chief Minister is not willing to fulfil the employees' demands although their salary is included in the amount sanctioned under 13th and 14th Finance Commissions.
In protest against this indifferent attitude of the Chief Minister, all the employees would wear black badge from July 21, he said and added that no employee would work extra time beyond Government's working hour of 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
On the other hand, he said that the JAC observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to Sapam Robinhood at a condolence meeting held on July 17, he said and added that JAC executives visited Robinhood's family and handed over a monetary assistance of Rs 10,000 .
Meanwhile, Secretariat Services' Association has also postponed their ceasework stir scheduled to start from July 20 .
In a statement, the association informed the Secretariat officers to continue their normal duty till the announcement of a new date.
