Chandranadi basin in Imphal cleaned

Imphal, July 19 2015 :
Nambul river's Chandranadi section at Langthabal was cleaned to release mass of floating weeds wedged on the basin on Sunday.
Overflowed water from Chandranadi has submerged around 500 acres of standing crops in Langthabal area�Naorem Loukol, Mayai Loukol and Maning Loukol�following incessant rains over the past one week.

Langthabal Mantrikhong Gram Panchayat Pradhan Arambam Ibotomba used nine labourers to pull up one kilometer-long floating weeds from the Nambul river section which passes through Manipur University.
Ibotombi said the overflowed water in the paddy fields will recede soon as the water flow has increased after removing the floating weeds from the basin.
