Imphal, December 09 2010:
Education Minister, Jayantakumar and the representatives of COTA today held talks about the ongoing COTA strike and and their demand of 6th central revised pay in toto in the conference hall of the education minister.
Some high officials of the state government also took part in the talks.
However the talk could not arrived at an amicable solution.
In a press release, COTA said that the ongoing relay hunger strike and cease work strike is for the food of the future generation of the state.
All the north east states have adopted the 6th Central Pay in toto.
But in Manipur, the government is arresting teachers who demand the 6th Central Pay.
Moreover, the government is not honouring the MOU signed between COTA and the government seven months back.
