Banner set ablaze

Imphal, February 26 2012:
Peeved at the absence of Meitei Mayek in the banners of the Sahitya Translation Festival held under the aegis of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad since February 20 at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound, volunteers of MEELAL have set ablazed two banners.
The banners were embossed with the words "Translation Festival's Exhibition cum Office room, Imphal Book Fair, Leihou Nunghou Shanglen, Kongpal Khaidem Leikai" in Roman script but no words were written in Meitei Mayek.
Enraged over absence of Meitei Mayek, MEELAL volunteers set the two banners ablazed in front of their office today.
