Longest serving Tangkhul chief passes away

Imphal, February 26 2012:
Asui Zimik, the longest serving chief among Tangkhul community, passed away today.
He was 85 .
Asui Zimik was serving as the chief of Khongban Tangkhul village under Saikul AC, Senapati for the last 55 years.
He was conferred the Ching-Tam Nungsi Leepun Mana on the occasion of 279th Puya Meitheba Observance by MNF in 2008.The funeral service of the deceased would be held at his native village on February 28 at 11 am.
