RPF alleges security forces of stealing seized arms

Imphal, February 26 2012:
The proscribed UG group RPF has alleged Central and state security forces of stealing seized arms for using in fake encounters.
In a statement, the proscribed outfit asserted that a combined team of Imphal West Commandos and 28 Assam Rifles seized 5 hand grenades from the possession of one Ashem Thoiba from Kakwa Keithel on February 23 but only 3 grenades were produced before the media.
Similarly, Manipur Police Commandos seized 617 ammunitions from the possession of PLA cadre identified as Chaothoi on January 8.But they produced only 259 ammunitions and kept aside 358 ammunitions with the intention of using them in future fake encounters, the statement claimed.
The statement further alleged that the security forces in the state have lost the dignity of being a police force.
They don't even know the abbreviation of POLICE, it added.
