PM's brain child Digital Mission launched

National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) which is a brainchild of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was launched at Hotel Imphal here today.
Lok Sabha, Committee on Petitions Chairman Bhagat Singh Koshyari, MLA Th Bishwajit, ACME India Microsys Pvt Ltd National coordinator Hemanta Larma, Digital India State coordinator T Shyamacharan and MU Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Director Prof Ch Ibohal attended the launching function as presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, Bhagat Singh Koshyari said that effective utilization of the ever advancing digital technology for skill development can bring rapid progress across the country.
Digital India mission can enhance the skills of Manipuri people and this would help economic development of the State, Bhagat Singh Koshyari said.
MLA Bishwajit said that 60 per cent of the total population of India are under 35 years and they are in search of jobs.
Digital India can enhance their skills and deliver them suitable jobs.
The same mission can also make distribution of PDS items totally transparent.
The degree of unemployment will vary reciprocally with the level of skill development and this would enable reducing anti-social activities, Bishwajit stated.
He then blamed the absence of a long term policy for the failure of many projects in the State.
He also appealed to all the people to extend necessary cooperation so as to make the Digital India mission a grand success in the State.
