Imphal, January 18 2010:
Not satisfied with the State Government's order to implement recommendations of the 6th Central Pay Commission from April this year without arrears, the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO returned the same order to the State Government today.
The JAC launched an indefinite cease work strike on January 16 urging for 14 different demands including implementation of pay scales recommended by the 6th Central Pay Commission for State Government employees and pensioners.
Asserting that the Government's order to implement recommendations of the 6th Central Commission did not accommodate all other demands, employees of different departments assembled at the JAC office this afternoon and staged a protest demonstration.
Similar protest demonstrations were also staged at the gates of different Government offices.
Decrying the Government order, the employees marched to the office of the Chief Secretary to return the order to the Government.
As the Chief Secretary is currently out of station, the employees gave back a copy of the order to Additional Chief Secretary LP Golmei who is in charge of the Chief Secretary.
JAC functionaries said that they have given back another copy of the same order to the Governor.
Copies of the same order have also been dispatched to the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Planning Commission.
They further appealed to all employees to go on with different forms of agitation until all the demands are met.
