Citizens Welfare Club (CWC) of Moreh Bazar yesterday conducted a District Level Youth Convention at Moreh.
The conference was sponsored by Nehru Yuva Kendra.
President of Meetei Council Moreh (MCM), L Imobi was the chief guest, Vice President of Tamil Sangam, R Murthy and President of Muslim Nagar Women's Development Society, Jubeda Begum were the guests of honour at the conference.
District Youth Co-ordinator of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Chandel, W Ibohal in his welcome address said that Moreh is known as mini India.
He said, the 1st All India Village Youth Club placement programme will be organised by NYK, Chandel on Febuary 2 at Moreh, and that a team of 20 students in the age group of 13 to 35 will be sent to Madhya Pradesh soon after February 2 where they will have a chance to see the Khajuraho Temple, Orchha temple of Madhya Pradesh, Jhansi Fort in UP, National Park, Pitambara Shakti Peeth, Norman Fort in Bhopal, etc.
Apart from touring these places, the team will have a glimpse of the life style and culture of the place.
The NYK, he informed the gathering, is planning many such programmes in future.
Chief guest L Imobi, lamenting the lack of employment among the different communities settled at Moreh, expressed the hope that the authorities concerned would organize vocational training here so as to open the way
for self-employment.
Yesterday's programme was participated by around 107 delegates who unanimously resolved to work together for peace, development & Communal Harmony.
As a part of this, in the coming 2/3 W.Ibohal DYC, NYK proposed a peace rally participated by 300 people from Moreh to Imphal on foot for 3 days.
It was also proposed to organize a peace rally around Moreh together with national delegates between Feb14 to 20 .
