A three-day indigenous fish culture training cum extension course organised by S Tomba and Sons Integrated Semi-Intensive Fish Farming Pvt Ltd was kicked off yesterday at its training hall.
In today's technical session, ICAR Senior Scientist (Fisheries) Dr Ch Basuda Devi delivered lecture on 'modern fish food supplements containing highly nutritious constituents for enhancement of growth'.
National and State Awardee Dr S Surchandra spoke on 'innovative culture of specific indigenous fishes like pengba, ngaton and ngakra etc for higher economy in Manipur'.
In the afternoon session, IBSD Fisheries Scientist (B) W Gushein delivered lecture on 'different types of fish disease that hampered fish production and its remedial measures'.
State Environment and Ecology Wing Analyst Dr T Brajakumar spoke on 'environment management for conservation through indigenous fish species of Manipur'.
The workshop organised in collaboration with Environment and Ecology Wing will wrap up tomorrow.
In all, 102 trainees are taking part in the training course.
