By donating six units of blood, 88 Bn BSF has saved the live of a civilian patient at RIMS today who was in dire need of blood.
One Dinamani Singh of Laipham Khunou Makha Leikai undergoing treatment at RIMS required minimum six units of blood of rare group.

Following a distress call from Sarat Chandra, a relative of the patient, to BSF Commandant at Koirengei, six jawans of 88 Bn BSF volunteered and donated the required units of blood.
Donation of blood by jawans who hailed from different parts of the country presented a perfect case of unity in diversity and secularism in the country, said a press release.
Commandant (Officiating DIG) Sham Kapoor later rewarded the jawans for donating blood willingly to an unknown person on humanitarian ground.
