Imphal, February 09, 2012:
Amidst controversies and complaints filed at Courts against alleged errors in the question paper of the MPSC preliminary exam held last year, DESAM has pointed out more errors in the main examination held yesterday.
Speaking to media persons this afternoon, DESAM president LC Santosh said that they have been asking the relevant authorities not to hold the main exam until the errors committed during the preliminary exam are rectified or redressed.
However, Manipur Public Service Commission conducted the main examination starting from February 6. Question papers for English literature Paper I and Paper II of 300 marks each were exact copies of the question papers set by the Commission for the civil services main exam held in 2005, Santosh asserted.
The questions and the sequence of the question papers are exactly similar to the question papers of 2005 though there were some changes in the marking system.
Santosh questioned if the MPSC has no qualified member or expert to set the questions properly for such a crucial examination which was held to select important administrators of the State.
He decried that the MPSC Chairman and Member Secretary in cahoot with some Members have reduced such a crucial examination to a total farce.
He said that DESAM would extend all possible assistance to the candidates who gave gone to law Courts to rectify the errors committed by MPSC.
Santosh further informed that DESAM would send written representations to relevant authorities so that Manipur Civil Services Competitive Exam is conducted in collaboration with UPSC or other Public Service Commissions of neighbouring States.
Many cases are pending in the Court at the moment.
