Imphal, February 09, 2012:
The question papers of English Paper I and II of the Manipur Civil Service Combined Competitive (MCSCC) Main Examination, 2010, which is being conducted by Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) since February 6 last, are alleged Xerox copy of the MCSCC Main Examination of 2005.Disclosing this at a press conference at the office of Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) at Keishampat here today, LC Santosh, President, DESAM, pointed out that there is no difference between the questions asked in English literature I and II papers of the ongoing MCSCC main Exam, 2010 with those asked in the MCSCC Main Examination of 2005.The only difference is the code numbers of the question papers.
Santosh charged that the manner of conducting such an important examination meant for recruiting Government officials in such a sloppy and awkward manner is nothing but to ensure recruitment of dear and near ones of the top officials of MPSC.
He further pointed out that since the question papers of MCSCC Preliminary exam, 2010 too had numerous errors and the candidates were made to sign on the question papers, DESAM had earlier appealed to the authority concerned to postpone the main exam.
But the authority did not pat any heed.
He also charged that there is no expert question setter in MPSC.
The Chairman and the two members in the Commission seem to be the only experts.
The misconduct of MPSC should not be taken for granted and the candidates should not remain silent but raise their voice against such manner of conducting an important examination like State Civil Services, the student leader exhorted, adding that that remaining silent would be looked upon as conceding to the wrongdoings of MPSC.
He also demanded that State Civil Service examination should not be conducted by MPSC but handed over to the UPSC or some other Public Service Commissions of North East.
