Jayanta's body taken by family members

Imphal, February 09, 2012:
The body of Wahengbam Jayanta of Kumbi Kangjeibung Mapan, who was killed by a combined team of Imphal West CDOs and 10 Assam Rifles near Don Bosco School at Phayeng during an alleged encopunter on February 6, was taken by family members after post mortem today.
The whole process of the post mortem was done in the presence of ab Executive Magistrate as witness and video recording was taken.
The JAC formed against the killing of Jayanta and family members in a meeting with the Chief Minister yesterday agreed to conduct a Magistrial Inquiry instead of Judicial Inquiry in to the killing.
Meanwhile, JAC against the killing of Thongam Sana has refused to take back the body of Sana, who was killed by a combined team of Imphal East and Imphal West CDOs in another alleged encounter at a spot in between Ningombam and Vale Academy on February 7. During a joint meeting, the JAC and the bereaved family members demanded the Chief Minister to conduct an inquiry into the incident and provide a suitable government job to the wife of the deceased.
However, the CM refused to conduct an inquiry stating that Sana was a former member of KYKL and it is beyond his power to order an inquiry.
Family members said that Sana, a resident of Wangoo Sandang Mayai Leikai was a member of KYKL.
But he surrendered to the Assam Rifles in 2008.Since then he was leading a normal life.
He went to Bishnupur in the morning of February 6 to participate in the Army Recruitment Rally along with documents.
But he was killed in a fake encounter, alleged family members.
