Imphal, October 08 2016:
The proscribed PREPAK has greeted all the struggling people of Manipur , member parties of CorCom and revolutionary groups of WESEA on the occasion of the outfit’s 39th raising day (October 9) .
Following the merger of Kangleipak into the Indian Union, people of the State have been living like slaves without any hope of redemption, remarked a statement issued by the outfit’s acting Chairman Kh Sathy.
Apart from undue interference in the socio-economic and political affairs of the State, the alien rule has succeeded in making a captive market out of Manipur (Kangleipak).
The general characteristics of the indigenous people like disdain for sycophancy and begging have disappeared.
With majority of the youth either addicted to intoxicating substances or infected with criminal tendency and with many of the youngsters leading an empty life without any vision, outsiders have been slowly taking control of the entire society and its different aspects.
This is one direct outcome of the nepotism and favouritism which by and large characterise the political leaders of the State.
The unity and integrity of Manipur hinge on its topography and landscape.
The present sorry state of affairs can be attributed to the collective failure to uphold the ethos of self-employment and economic self-sufficiency, Kh Sathy said. It’s time for the people of Manipur to rejuvenate a healthy work culture, exploit the natural resources, enhance productivity and prevent external forces from making Manipur a market of their products.
To distort the culture and traditions of an occupied territory and destroy its productive bases are some common characteristics of a colonial rule.
This is exactly what is seen in Manipur today.
The outfit then blamed the State Government for the unrest prevailing in the State with regard to the mass movement for protection of indigenous peoples.
Had the State Government believed that they are the genuine leaders, they would have fulfilled people’s aspirations without for public uproars and mass demonstrations.
People should be wary of the divisive forces.
If the conspiracies of such divisive forces contradict the National political agenda, people need to teach a befitting lesson to all those divisive forces.
It is crucial to study the cultural strategy devised by the Government of India since sometime back.
Promotion of foreign religious practices and yoga as a mass movement can prove to be devastating to the culture and civilization of Kangleipak.
Rather than adopting yoga as a way of exercise, people need to promote indigenous exercises like Sarit Saratki Sajel, Hiri Konba etc.
Given Manipur’s small population, all the people must be physically fit enough to fight for National liberation, the acting Chairman asserted.
