11th Manipur State League : TRAU, AIM, register contrastng wins

TRAU, Kwakeithel and AIM, Khabam earned full points today beating their respective opponents in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League at Mapal Kangjeibung.
In the first encounter of the day, TRAU edged past YPHU, Lalambung by a margin of two goals to one.
Other than two draws, YPHU suffered four losses in six matches of the ongoing State league while TRAU, a strong contender, registered four wins one draw and a
game loss.
Even as YPHU made an impressive start, their defence weakness was exposed as Th Vandona of TRAU booted a superb goal that went beyond the reach of YPHU custodian in the 25th minute.
YPHU struggled hard to restore parity.
However, their strikers, who got big chances, could not ensure fine and accurate finishing.
TRAU enjoyed the 1-0 lead till the end of the first half.
TRAU Nigerian striker Amos Nathaniel Adisa's long shot, after collecting the ball that deflected from YPHU custodian, was bang on target in the 75th minute.
Undaunted after conceding two goals, energetic YPHU played the offensive in the last minutes.
They were rewarded for their efforts as Y Kammando pulled one back for the team in the 81st minute.
YPHU continued playing in the attacking mode.
However, they were denied any chances to equalise the goal.
In the second match, riding on a brace by N Boris, defending champion AIM, Khabam crushed TRUGPU, Nambol 3-0 .
With their lost today, TRUGPU have two draws and four losses while AIM is ahead of other teams in the league table with five wins and one loss.
In the one-sided match today, N Boris slammed home the opener for AIM in the 22nd minute through an assist from Y Chingkhei.
N Boris scored his second in the 46th minute while Y Chingkhei slotted home one in the 56th minute to seal the deal in their favour.
