Lalita Bhandari, who represented India in the recently concluded Incheon Asian Games in Taekwondo (49-53 kg), was warmly received by 40 Assam Rifles, Keithelmanbi, well-wishers and family members at Imphal Tulihal International Airport today.
Speaking to reporters, Lalita's father, Subedar MS Bhandari, who is currently posted at 40 Assam Rifles Keithelmanbi, said that his daughter went down to her Korean opponent in the quarter final match on September 30 .
Previously in other games, she had represented India and won the Gold medal at the 5th Commonwealth Games in 2011, Silver medal in the 11th South Asian Games and Bronze medal in the 21st Asian Taekwondo Championship, he said.

Sudedar MS Bhandari expressed hope that his daughter would continue to bring glory to the country in other future championships although she failed to win a medal for the country in the recently concluded Asian Games.
In a message, IGAR (South) Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra also extended his best wishes to Lalita and her family.
He said that it was an honour and pride for the oldest paramilitary force of the country that a daughter of one of its officers represented the country in the 17th Asian Games.
9 Sector Assam Rifles Commander Brig VT Mathew also conveyed a message of best luck for her future career stating that he is confident that Lalita would continue to bring laurels to the country and their organisation.
