Mission Swachh Bharat : Rally held at Kangpokpi, Senapati; IPC at Jiri

A mass rally with school children was held today at Kangpokpi as part of the National sanitation campaign under Mission Swachh Bharat.
The rally organised by Kangpokpi PHE Division, PHED Manipur was flagged off from Kangpokpi ADC office complex by DK Thangboi Haokip, ADC Kangpokpi.
The rally was taken till Brig Thomas ground.
Employees of different Govt offices located within Kangpokpi subdivision including ADC, PHE, PWD, Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture, ZEO, police as well as students of various schools in the subdivision took part in the rally.
The objective of the National sanitation campaign is to construct toilet for healthy living, to keep away flies and to stress the importance of sanitation.
The campaign which began from Sept 25 will go on till Oct 10 .

District level painting and essay writing competitions, observance of world hand washing day of school children, inter personal communication, community participation on safe sanitation, safe drinking water and water borne diseases and preventive measures would be organised as part of the campaign.
Ningombam Gambhir Singh, EE of PHE Division, Kpi said the mass rally was held to spread awareness among the public on sanitation.
As part of the programme, ward wise cleanliness drive would also be taken up wherein prizes would be given to the best ward besides holding public discussions on the subject.
The mass rally was also held today at various subdivisional headquarters under Kangpokpi ADC like Saikul and Saitu-Gamphazol.
A similar rally was also held at Senapati town today.
The rally at Senapati was said to be the largest rally the district has ever witnessed with the participation of all the District Level Officers and employees of more than 35 departments and people from 37 villages in and around the district hqs.
The Swachh Bharat rally was organised jointly by the District Administration and Autonomous District Council along with the frontal organizations including the Naga People's Organization, Senapati District Women Association (SDWA), Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA), different tribe Hohos, Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC), various NGOs and schools.
It recorded a turnout of more than 3000 people.
Joseph Pauline, MCS, ADM, Senapati, addressed the gathering and spoke extensively on the importance of sanitation in the district to prevent diseases.
Other speakers of the event included ML Markson, president of NPO; A Lolia, president of SDWA; A John, president, KSTC and Rang Peter, CEO, ADC, Senapati.
JNN adds: As part of Mission Swachh Bharat an Inter-Public Communication was organized by PHED, Jiribam today at the Lainingthou Sanamahi Community hall, Kalinagar-3 .
The Programme was attended by S Sarat Singh, Assistant Engineer, PHED, Jiribam; Kumba Luwang, secretary Senior Citizen, Jiribam and Mema Devi, president JIMPAL as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
In his speech, S Sarat Singh assured to try his level best to improve the water supply scheme in Jiribam.
He also added that cleanliness is a continuous process and it also needs public cooperation to fulfil the mission.
The need to clean corrupt practices in Govt Depts was also stressed during the programme.
