Imphal, October 07 2014:
Stating that transfer of both the Chairmen of Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) and Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) is a hasty decision, Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillon Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has demanded the Government to revoke the said order.
Speaking to reporters at its office, MEELAL president Sadokpam Tomba Mangang said that the Government had informed the public through a notification published in some section of the media regarding the transfer of COHSEM Chairman Hamom Naba and BOSEM Chairman Potshangbam Dhanakumar on October 4 .
Saying that students would write the Manipuri subject in Meetei script for the first time in 2015 Matriculation examination, Tomba Mangang said that it is too hasty to tranfer the two Chairmen ahead of this examination as MEELAL has been maintaining good rapport and understanding with them on the matter.
Maintaining that MEELAL has no objection in appointing two different IAS officers as the Chairmen of COHSEM and BOSEM, Tomba Mangang said that however the Government must have delayed the tranfer of Hamom Naba and Dhanakumar till the end of the ensuing Class X and XII examinations.
Saying that the new Chairmen of BOSEM and COHSEM might have less knowledge on the technicalities of Meetei script, Tomba Mangang demanded that the tranfer of Dhanakumar and Hamom Naba be delayed till the end of 2015 examinations.
