One day farmers' training programme held

In view of the 50th year of the Tumuyon Khullen Youth and Students' Organization, the Tumuyon Khullen Youth and Students' Organization conducted a one day farmers' training cum vaccination programme in collaboration with the Senapati Veterinary office on October 7 at Tumuyon Khullen Community Hall.
A key note address was presented by Dr H Shanti Kumar Singh, Joint Director, Vety Office Senapati.
The Joint Director said that since time immemorial, domestic animals have been part of the human society.
"The domestic animals have served human beings in many useful ways like farming, transportation and as companion.
The health of these animals is always a concern to human health too," he pointed out.
About 40 farmers of Tumuyon Khullen village and the surrounding villages participated in the training programme.
Dr W Tomba Singh, Deputy Director, Vety Kangpokpi, Dr Sani Pao, Specialist Piggery, District Vety Office Senapati, Dr DS Bonny Bernard, Vety Office Senapati, Dr Dongkholal Zaomi, Vety Senapati, Dr Daili Leo, Vety Senapati, were the resource persons during the training.
Prevention and treatment of livestock diseases, poultry and pigerry farming and management, cross breeding of cattles through artificial insemination in Manipur, and dairy farming and management were some of the topics emphasized by the resource persons.
Other dignitaries included the village authorities of Tummuyon Khullen Village, Pastor and other social workers.
