'Some trying to project DESAM in bad light'

Imphal, October 16 2016: Some people have been trying to tarnish the image of DESAM by making false allegations, said DESAM general secretary Edison.

Addressing mediapersons at its office located at Keisampat, Edison said that two DESAM volunteers went to DM College of Commerce hostel to enquire about the assault incident which occurred on October 14 midnight.

However, the two volunteers of DESAM were falsely accused of trying to destroy AMSU head office and were thrashed.

Paikhomba and Devdutta were beaten up with bamboo  canes and clubs by a group of AMSU volunteers.

The duo who were accused of attempting to burn down AMSU head office were rescued by a police team.

Edison further said that there have been some assault incidents inside DM College campus in the past as well.

The most surprising thing is that AMSU had issued a statement demanding not interfere in its affair.

AMSU, as always, feels that others should be below them.

AMSU’s allegations are false and baseless.

If the student body continues such act, DESAM will not remain silent, Edison said.
