TNL reiterates boycott CM call

The Tangkul Naga Long ( TNL ) has reiterated the boycott call of the proposed visit of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and his council of Ministers for the multiple inauguration programme of upgraded power systems, SDO/BDO LM block, Chingai SDO/BDO, etc, on October 24 in different villages in Ukhrul.
The TNL has warned that there will be severe consequences, which will see the State Government responsible, against the visit for the inauguration programme.
The TNL held an emergency joint meeting of Tangkul Zonal Chairmen and youth council (TMNL) yesterday on the proposed visit of the CM along with his ministers for the inauguration programmes.
TNL president, Weapon Zimik, mentioned that a monitoring committee has also been constituted to oversee and to work out the future course of action plan.
Briefing the media at Ukhrul, he said that the “incumbent State Government” had “ulterior” motives to “sabotage the Naga movement for a peaceful solution.” A reliable source informed that a joint meeting of Teinem and Phalee will be held on October 18 after which 28 villages under LM block will take a final decision.
The TNL president asked that the public to co-operate with the TNL and stated that if the situation turns “ugly” then the “State Government would be held responsible.
