Nemcha Kipgen inspects sites for construction of industrial estate

Textile, Commerce & Industry Minister Nemcha Kipgen has inspected the proposed sites for construction of industrial estates in Senapati and Kangpokpi districts.
It may be recalled that in 2018, the Commerce and Industries Department, Government of India had decided to set up Industrial estates in each of the 16 districts of Manipur with financial assistance of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and the NEC.
The Industries Minister was accompanied by Mahesh Chaudhuri, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Senapati; Michael Achom, IRS, Secretary, Textiles, Commerce and Industries; Yumnam Robita Devi, IAS, Director, Trade, Commerce and Industries; Peter Salam, MCS, Managing Director, MANIDCO; S Lunguiba Thangal, MCS, SDO Senapati; N Sundar Singh, General Manager, DIC Senapati and Kangpokpi and other line department officials during the inspection at Senapati.
Nemcha Kipgen was accorded a warm welcome at the DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati.
While inspecting the site for establishment of Industrial Estate at Kotomei village in Senapati, Nemcha Kipgen said that various developmental works have been executed by the BJP Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren Singh in the state irrespective of the valley and hills.
She continued that many more development works will be taken up under 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas'- the Prime Minister's motto for a self-reliant India.
She also mentioned the establishment of an Industrial Estate at Katomei in Senapati will generate employment along with various other benefits for the welfare of the people.
She urged the people of Senapati, particularly Katomei village authority and villagers of adjoining areas to render all possible cooperation towards the establishment and smooth functioning of the industrial estate.
Peter Salam informed that the site at Katomei was identified by the Directorate of Trade, Commerce & Industries with assistance of all stakeholders including the district officers.
Later, the Minister inspected the proposed site for establishment of Industrial Estate at Kangpokpi along with concerned department officials; DC Kangpokpi, Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, and members of Kangpokpi Town Committee.
