Petitions seek info on second wives of MLAs

Continuing the spree of filing election petitions against elected representatives of different assembly constituencies, Thokchom Radheshyam (BJP) of Heirok assembly constituency and Khuraijam Loken (NPP) of Wangoi assembly constituency are latest in the line of firing from their nearest rivals Moirangthem Okendro of INC and O Lukhoi of BJP who are praying the court to nullify the formers' membership of the state legislative assembly and declare them (petitioners) as the rightful winners of the recently conducted state assembly election.
In his petition, ex-minister Okendro claimed that Th Radheshyam did not disclose the name of one of his wives and did not tick some options in his election affidavit.
He also claimed that Radheshyam entered wrong name of his wife.
While accepting the petition, the court served notice to the respondent for filing his submission by May 26.On the other hand, ex-minister O Lukhoi claimed in his petition filed against MLA Khuraijam Loken and INC candidate Salam Joy that (respondent No 1) Kh Loken did not mention name of his second wife Khuraijam Sushila and their son K Sushil in the list of dependents in the election affidavit.
He also failed to disclose detailed information of a Tata truck and a Mahindra Bolero registered in his name.
