Potholes near Mao gate repaired

In view of condition of the NH-2 road near Mao gate bridge deteriorating with each passing day and large potholes dotting the road section posing serious obstacles to operation of loaded trucks, members of Manipur Drivers' Association (MDA) and Senapati District Truck Owners' Association (SDTODA) assisted by personnel of Mao police station started repairing of the road near the bridge.
According to MDA assistant secretary Kh Sangitcharan, numerous potholes on both sides of the bridge near Mao gate are causing concern to drivers and this prompted MDA and SDTODA to shoulder responsibility in repairing the road stretch to prevent unwanted accident.
All the potholes were mended with sand and earth mixture with collection of these materials borne by MDA and SDTODA, he said while adding that the RCC bridge connecting Nagaland is also in bad shape.
He then urged authority concerned to repair the road near the bridge at the earliest.
