CPI observes birth anniversary of Karl Marx

CPI Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) celebrated the 204th birth anniversary of German philosopher Karl Marx at Irawat Bhawan here on Thursday.
Speaking at the observance, CPI MSC secretary L Sotinkumar recounted that Karl Marx was architect of revolution across the world to free the workers from the shackles of capitalists.
While the BJP leadership of relentlessly propagating the Hindutva agenda, Sotinkumar said that the saffron party has been undermining major issues of drug menace, corruption and price hike of essential items with its focus primarily on wresting power by spending huge amount during elections.
He also alleged that soaring prices of essential items and petroleum products is direct fallout of the BJP government's tactics of winning the election at any cost and called upon the masses to follow the idea of Karl Marx for fighting against socio - political injustice.
Among others, the observance was also attended by CPI assistant secretary M Joykumar, secretariat member N Singhajit, district secretary S Yaima and MCS/AIYFICDC president M Somorjit.
Different speakers also elaborated on the books written by Karl Marx namely 'Manifesto of the Communist Party' and 'Das Capital' and further urged the people to embrace the ideas of Karl Marx.
Floral tributes were also paid to the photo of Karl Marx.
